Question on new driveway

[IMG][/IMG]

I’m in the process of putting in a metal building with a lean to to cover our WhiteHawk 28 RLS. My plan is to have a 17’ wide tie in at the street, at about 30 foot into the drive it angles 61 degree and then continues straight back to the parking under the lean to. The only concern I have is will I run out of drive width for my front tires while backing into the angle?

Thanks everyone

I think it will be OK. That doesn't look like a severe angle to me.

Find an empty parking lot and set up cones or mark the path with the same dimensions and try backing in.

This is the cheapest and most definitive option. This way you'll know for certain. Enjoy, you'll love having a carport to keep your RV out of the elements!

X2, To me, the worse part looks to be getting the TT to the driveway and lined up with that cul-de-sac.

As for the design; I might have them curve that inside corner where the shed is at right now. Aesthetically it will look very good, plus I can guarantee you will cut that corner every time you back in, and I bet when you pull out.

Are you looking at concrete or asphalt? If concrete, I would have them roll the edges to have thicker concrete along the edges, where the TT or TV, will have a greater chance of being off the concrete.

30+ years ago my parents had a new concrete driveway installed. They did the thick edges, I think they rolled down 1 foot (maybe 8") with a piece of rebar. At the parking pad, They used wire mess. They installed 4" thick fiberglass reinforced concrete everywhere. I do not recall if wire mesh or rebar was used throughout the driveway or not. This was done based on the concrete company's recommendation.

When they backed in, they always get off the cement in the front half as they get straightened out. In back, they are parked right on the edge of the driveway. It is rock solid, No cracks. The driveway still looks 5 years old still.

We have a neighbor with a 5ver, that he stores offsite. He brings it home to load it up and parks it in his driveway. It might be there for 1-7 days at a time. He installed <4" cement, no wire mesh reinforced. Did not roll the edges. It looks ok from the street. Walk the driveway, and you can see all kinds of cracks.

Didn’t need to worry, the setup worked just as planned. Now my work starts with electrical and building the bathroom

Or even back it in on the grass before you mark out the driveway, then pay attention to tire marks when you do the layout.

The building is 30’ x 40’ with 16’ eave. The lean to is 20’ x 40’, the gable extension is 30’ x 24’

Two 14’ tall x 12’ wide, opposing roll up doors,
One 10’ x 10’ roll up door on the rv side.

A 20’ x 20’ uncovered slab in the back for the lowboy trailer.

Let me know if you need any additional details, I can confirm that drinking and bending 3/4 EMT conduit doesn’t mix
