Questions about having front cap reclearcoated

We bought a 1year old Eagle HT 305CKTS last summer and over the winter it was stored outside and has faded really bad. I took pictures and sent them to the rv dealer and they are going to get it fixed by Jayco. But I don’t want it fixed the way their guys fix them. I do bumper repair on cars for dealerships and some RV paint repair. I pride myself on making it last as long as it can, and making it look good. The dealer told me that the guys that reshoot these front caps reclear over the vinyl decals. Painting over decals is going to cause it to start peeling very soon and I’ll be fixing it again.Vinyl shrinks and stretches and wrinkles and curls up. I want to get with Jayco and become a vendor that fixes paint problems, but I want to do it right. Does anyone know who to talk with at Jayco to get on their warranty vendor list. Also, is there a company that makes replacement vinyl decals for the front caps. I may take off the big Jay bird and put our logo in its place. Good place to advertise right there on the front. I wish I could travel and fix paint work on rv’s. If I knew it would pay the bills I would do it in a heartbeat. Has anyone had the front cap recoated and how did they do it? Did you have to have it redone? Sorry I jumped all over the place. I just have lots of questions.

Hi
Jayco Eagle here front cap oxidization during first year of ownership. Ours gets stored in a pole shed.
Dealer and Jayco agreed to have shop of my choice sand, paint and clearcoat. Industrial grade paint and clearcoat. 3 coats of paint 3 coats of clear. Jayco supplied new decals. We chose not to have all the strip put back on just the emblem middle from.
Jayco set a dollar limit $1500 usd for the cost. We submitted invoice we paid and Jayco sent us a cheque
That was our experience. It did take effort to get it done.

Our cap experience was much like RoadRunner’s. The dealer farmed the job out to a small shop that had experience with RVs. They sanded the original finish off, painted and clear coated it. The complete job took quite a while because we had to wait on Jayco to supply new decals. Our unit was going on 3 yrs and they didn’t have any in stock and had to print (or have them printed). We were pleased with the results and it has held up well.

Yes, I’m surprised they said they would take care of it. The dealer was even surprised. I’m gonna try and see if they’ll let me do it. I’m just worried about the other guys spraying over the decals that are already there. I’m gonna use PPG NEXA paint with a Glamour Clear and it should last a very very long time.
