Should I continue using a cover on my TT?

So I bought an Adco Designer Series Tyvek All Climate+Wind cover mostly to protect my TT from the sun here in Utah. I am at high elevation(6500') and its rarely cloudy so the sun just beats on things.

My first cover lasted 1.5 years before the thing started to literally fall apart. The grey fabric on the sides got extremely friable and started to tear like a piece of printer paper. No joke, I could pinch it between my fingers and just rip it apart.

Adco warrantied it for me and sent me a new cover last fall. Well, that cover was on the trailer from January to May when I finally got the trailer back out. I noticed that there was white powder all over the trailer when I pulled the cover and it seemed like maybe there was some spots where the cover was rubbing on the roof and fiberglass sides.

It's a dilemma. Do I leave the trailer exposed to the sun or do I cover it and risk it getting damaged by the cover? We get a lot of wind here and I have no protection in my yard, so the cover is getting the full brunt of it.

You can get rv carports you assemble yourself for a reasonable price.

From my experience, I found the covers buffeted the RV too much in wind causing really bad rub spots. Regardless of how secure I'd make it, it still seemed to damage the trailer in one way or another. Sometimes, the buffeting. Once it ripped a downspout off. Another time, even with protection, it ripped at the downspouts. The way I see it, RV's sit on the lots for extended periods of time without a cover and never seem to be damaged from the elements. Might be a little dirty but that's better than ripped off downspouts and countless damaged covers. I haven't covered my trailer for the past 4 years and most likely never will again. I've noticed nothing but dirt. Others may have different experiences, but that's mine.

Yeah, the problem is I live in a development with an HOA. I am not sure it would fly. I had enough trouble getting them to even let me park the trailer on my lot since I am on a corner lot and couldn't hide it beside or behind the house.

Right now its sitting out by the main road, behind my fence. By clearly visible as people drive by.

This is what I am thinking. I am just worried about the sun here. It's so intense.

Check with your local fairground. Seriously. For off season storage you can get some very fair rates from them for covered storage. We pay $400 storage in a covered, unseated, secure building from Nov-April
