slide and water on rug

Been getting quite a bit of rain and wind while camping and noticed some water on the carpet on the back side of the slide (near our rear bathroom). I first shrugged it off to my lack of whipping the side of the slide before bringing it in but then, realized the same did not happened on the other side and that perhaps the slide squeegee should take care of that????
anyone with same problem?
what is the fix?
Rig under warranty

No one?
The more I look at it, the more I think it's water sitting on the side window ledge on the back side of the slide. You'd think the rubber would squeegy this out but....
Maybe one more check on my check list...

"Water inside" is all I would need to head back to the dealer with the trailer. You mentioned rain/wind when you were out, and I wonder if that contributed to what you found. With a strong enough wind, I could see rain working past the seals. It happened to us with our fifth wheel in SW Virginia 4 years ago. 40 mph plus wind and driving rain; the slides facing the wind got a little damp in places they shouldn't.

I am not convinced wind was the culprit. I think it's design. you see, there is a window on the (back) side of the slide. There is about 1" trim where the water can sit and I doubt the rubber seal can get this on the way in.....
We'll see...

slide and water on rug

Was told that water sits on roof of slide and that I should wipe it before bringing it in. Is there not a "squeegy" type seal to do that while closing it?
Should i get a slide toper?
Water does not come in with slide opened. It comes in when closing slide after a rain

I put a slide topper on mine, the way I look at it is the less water sitting on the trailer the better. It seems kind of silly to have to climb up and wipe water off the slide before bringing it in. I thought they were designed to be used outdoors in all kinds of weather.

Yep. Just ordering one right now. I didn't know about this (water on top if slides and problems) until today.
More $$ on RV

I've been watching this thread, because having a slide in the TT is new to us as well. I've read in other spots some of the pros and cons of having an awning on the slide. So far, I'm going without the awning for one reason, that being it's difficult to clean the underside of the awning (and top of the slide) and over time, mildew will build up in between the two. Nothing worse than mildew! Anyone out there have more comments on this topic?

I think we'll be happy with the slide topper. I didn't know about having the clean and wipe the slide after rain or pine needles. This will take care of that.
Not sure about the cleaning part.
