[QUOTE=Grandpawlee;687419] My other two slides are different but the brand info is not handy right here. Any other tips for different slides.

If you have Electric Through Frame Slide-Out System maybe this will help.

When I picked up my Northpoint the tech doing the PDI said to never lube the slides, makes you wonder who the hell they are hiring.

It depends on the type. All slides need the rubber seals, inner and outer, treated with the dry spray lube of choice. Other type slides, should be lubed per the manufacturers instructions. Some specify just wipe the grime off and others have special lubes. LCI makes many different types of slide outs so make sure you are using the correct one for what you have. Many rigs have several types of slide out types.

Keeping them clean and properly lubed will help them move smoother and also keep the seals flexible.
I have never had a rubber seal problem in 18 years of having rigs with slideouts.

You can form your own opinion on who they are hiring. I would be wary of the one who gave that advise.

I use 3-n-1 RV Care dry Slide Out spray. It totally stopped the squeal. I have a rack-n-pinion slide. I keep it very clean and lube the gears and the rollers underneath the trailer. I know a lot of OE literature states that lube is not necessary, but the noise drove us crazy. I tried everything else, and nothing but this lube worked. I use 303 on all of the seals.

Thanks for the link.

Looking through the manual it shows a motor on the actuator tube. Does that push/pull the slide and the pinion/rack are just to support the weight?

The issue I have with the slides of that type is that when retracted they are tight at the top corners and movement while underway has broken the seal up in the corners. I have adjusted it since I noticed it but because I haven't yet replaced the seal I can't tell if it's still doing it. The floor in the larger slides bounces quite a bit while on the road. I put my GoPro in there and could see the recliners moving up and down when going over bumps. I now have plywood squares I put under the slide when retracted

Alante 31v slide out

I have a Jayco Alante 31 v. Just wondering where slide out motor are located. It has a front slide and a rear slide on drivers side. The front slide has an access panel in one of the storage compartments. The rear slide doesn’t show one. I am think it is accessed under the bed, but looks like something must be removed for access. Just wondering in case of issues
