Suburban Water Heater

My 2021 Jayco has a Suburban water heater. All my previous RVs have had Atwood water heaters, hence, no anode. Historically, I would never drain the water heater between trips, but only at the end of season when I winterized the RV. My question to you guys with experience with Suburban water heaters. Do you drain the tank after each trip? If so, do you leave the anode out and tank open until next trip or do you empty tank and re-install the anode?

I only pull the anode when winterizing. Only been one winter for us so far. Now that we are in camping season, I will drain the plumbing if more than a couple weeks between trips. If less, I don't drain anything. If I drain. it is using the low point drains, with a faucet inside open to allow air into the system. I don't open the water heater valve, etc to drain it outside of winterizing.

I drain mine if it is going to sit over a few weeks. It's easy to pull the anode, drain and re-install. I have a sign hanging in the box where the on/off switch is to remind anyone that the tank is empty.
