The quest to stabilize my 174BH baja

Having gone from a tandem axle with scissor jacks to this one I was less than impressed with the stability when set up. 1st thing I noticed was that the tongue jack only came with a wheel and the front jacks ran front to back. 1st thing was to turn the jacks sideways and order a tongue jack foot pad with a 10" extension. The baja sits so high that I got tired of running the jack up and down. Those 2 things helped immensely but there was still a bit of rocking. Next step was to install the step stabilizers and I got a single wheel check. I wont say rock solid as I can still wrench on it and get it to move some but what an improvement! Total cost was around $100 and worth every penny.

Very nice. I put 4 scissor jacks on my Jayco 1207 that I lifted, basically 1 on each corner. Rock solid.

My 1st ever legit TT was a 1207. Loved that thing. Only paid $1500 for it so I didn't worry to much about hurting it. Towed that thing to places only a 4x4 should go and it held up well. Outgrew it and sold it after 6 or 7 years for $1800.

Looks like quite a few mods. Did you add the toy hauler?

Yup, extended the frame added a 3500# axle, 225/75/15’s. I also added an electric pump for pressurized water and outdoor shower. And fabricated a cage for a water tank that would sit in the front to add an extra 25 gallons of water carrying capacity.
