Transporting a Travel Trailer

Jayco Family I will be retiring from the US Army this year and am looking to relocate to San Antonio, TX from Long Island, NY. I can tow my trailer down there but that’s quite the hike. Anyone have any recommendations of companies who are reasonable, reliable and responsible to transport?

No recommendation, other than to treat yourself to a great cross-country camping trip.

And thank you for your service!

Companies pay the RV drivers around $ 1.50/mile one way. I'm sure the charge RV manufactures at least $ 1.75 for the service. Find a good friend who will haul it for you.
Look on the WEB and you can find many haulers.

Thank you for your service.

If you check the want-ads for companies looking for RV transportation drivers in Indiana around Middlebury, you'll find a number of company names. Those companies and drivers don't just transport new units. They should be reliable and responsible. You'll need to decide if they are reasonable.

You might take a look at the economics if the Army won't pay the way for you RV move.

At $1.75 per mile times 1881 miles = $3,297. It might be better to sell and buy a new one when you get there.

I do agree with the post above, make the move a vacation! My son moved San Diego to Maryland stopping at relatives in Denver, co and Illinois.

Based on our earlier contact about getting past Baltimore I remember that you are retiring just before Christmas and after the beginning of the snow season. Unless there are pressing needs to be in San Antonio I'm also going to suggest taking a couple weeks and make it a fun trip.
Because of the time of year I would head for Atlanta then the Gulf Coast Mobile or New Orleans and then turn west.
