Using my RV for Business Travel

Hey there!
I am able to travel and work and I've decided to start using my Jayco as my office and accommodations as I travel. I've done the math and I will save $$ by doing this and enjoy the benefit of not being in hotels or AirBnBs like I have been.
I am open to all and any insight to this venture from veterans who have done this before or are doing it now. I know I'm not the only one.

If used for business it will void any warranty you may have on the unit.

Also, is it registered as a commercial vehicle for tax, registration and insurance purposes? May cost you more in the long run.

There has been overreaching analysis before making this decision. Thank you for the concern it is meaningful. At the same time I would never make a decision like this without doing the necessary due diligence. Relative to warranty the trailer I am buying is already out of warranty. Thank you again for your input.

We both work from our home offices, Stacy has one upstairs and mine is downstairs. I used to travel 4 to 6 times a year for my company to various facilities we have across the USA. In the last 4 years, we have opted to travel in our Seneca - instead of the dreaded airport & flight & missed connection & re-book & lost luggage & rental car & hotel & dining out every meal routine.

We don't consider the Seneca a business vehicle - and don't treat it that way for taxes, warranty and insurance purposes. We did take a portion of the mileage as un-reimbursed business expense.

We also spend a few weeks getting to our destination too, or take a few months getting there and enjoy the time working in a different place every other week. We do work out of our Seneca - Her desk is at the Kitchen table and mine is a stand up desk at the cab (my preference is a stand up desk anyways) We have a Network Printer/scanner/copier in our Seneca office configuration and all PC's, VOIP phones are wired in our Seneca network that is supplied by an LTE router to bring our connectivity to the motorhome. We spend 6-8 months a year out on the road, all while working full time too.

If you get a per diem for travel it's a great way to pocket some tax free cash.

There is a very thin line between being non commercial and a commercial rig if crossing state lines and working in your rv. The Feds have some rules about this.
Working on a computer is one thing & no one would know but if your doing something from your rv such a selling merchandise or repairing & have signage you're in commercial land .
I'll get back here with some specifics as I sent email to our running buddy that does trucking compliance audits for TxDPS. We have had several discussions about similar.

I say work quietly in your RV, make a good living and pay your taxes.

Thank you for the guiding words. I have worked interstate and intercontinental solely as a consultant and onsite tech rep. I am working closely with my accountant to decide the best way to go. I feel that just traveling and working and just doing what I've always done out of hotels, AirBnB's will suffice.

I love the pics (dog lover here). Tell me about the "antenna" that I saw in the first pic?
