What are your big plans for summer 2017?

Big plans for us is to head over to Wisconsin to visit family, go fishing, and kayaking, then head over to the black hills for a couple weeks, Devils Tower for a few days, then over to Yellowstone. In between Saint George and Wisconsin we will need a couple stops, I was thinking Dinosaur, or just some random Walmart. All in all we will be gone for about 2 and a half months. I'm so excited I'm getting the trailer ready now, ordered another solar panel, inspected the brakes, and had new shoes put on the TT last year. I need a new spare, and need to do some small things. But this is going to be fun! What are your plans?

Big plans indeed! That looks like quite the road trip. 8-10 days at a time is about the max I can squeeze into my work schedule. We do that a couple of times each season with the rest of the outings usually limited to long week-ends at the coast or someplace in the Cascades or Central Oregon. This coming season the longer trips will be in July when we make our annual volunteer trip to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kanab, UT, and September when we take a lazy trip through southwestern Montana. Our youngest daughter and her boyfriend always drive up from the Phoenix area for the week at Kanab so it's good family time. It'll just be the DW and I on the Montana trip - planning to spend time at Lews & Clark Caverns and Bannack State Historic Park.

Our big trips this year unfortunately don't have our camper involved. We are taking our son on his first cruise at the end of summer. Everything we have planned with the camper is just 3-4 day trips. But we are planning some for next summer already.

I snowbirded this winter in the Texas Hill Country, but will be leaving at the end of next week. I'll be campground hosting at a couple of Michigan State Parks for the summer: April at Hartwick Pines State Park; May through Sept at N. Higgins Lake State Park; then back to Hartwick Pines for October - late November. After that, I'll be headed back here for next winter.

These two parks are only about 30 minutes apart, so I'm looking forward to NOT eating up a lot of gas $ towing my rig all over the state.

Hope you all have safe drives and fantastic camping seasons!

12 day trip to Santa Cruz area, a lot of 3-4 day weekends (boondocking), setting up portable solar system and prepping to go FT in a couple years.

We have 7 trips scheduled this year - 5 weekend camping trips, 1 week long camping trip, and one week long non-camping trip (renting a cottage). All are in-state (Wisconsin) for now since our kids are a bit on the younger side (6, 2, & 1). I can't wait till they're just a bit older, better at longer car rides, and we can venture further away.

I used to spend my summers (when I was single) spear fishing between La Paz and Bahia de Los Angeles.

We're really wanting to make it to Glacier, MT, but I doubt we'll be able to swing such a big trip this season.

But we do intend on going camping somewhere every weekend possible, may only be in a max of about 8 hr. radius from home for our very first camping season.

I never really thought much about making big trips until we got the new truck, now I feel like our wings are free.

Not sure of our plans yet for the summer?
I do have a 4 day planned this weekend and end of April & end of May
Last summer I did a 2,000 mile trip to Apostle Islands to do some kayaking
Went thru the beautiful state of Wisconsin and wow is it pretty
Stayed at ENCORE campgrounds on the way up & back and they were very well kept and scenery was awesome. 1st was above Green Bay on Lake Michigan and on the way back we stayed at Wisconsin Dells.
Hope to go back and visit

No big plans per se, just six long weekends scheduled in Wisconsin.

Wow! As ttavasc said 8-10 days is about all I can be away at one time. Our "big trip" pales in comparison to some of you guys.

We're heading to Colorado at the end of July. We'll spend a couple days visting two sons in the Denver area then up to Red Feather Lake, CO and possibly the Snowy Range in south central Wyoming for a week or so.

I know we are doing our annual summer trip to Top Sail SP (Santa Rosa, FL) in July. I just don't remember if the DW made reservations for 10 or 14 days?? Oh well!

I have 150 hours of vacation time saved up, but I'm afraid if I used a big chunk of it in one shot, I'd come home and find my position had been eliminated.

We mostly do 4 day weekends in local state parks.

I did get my free Canada parks pass in the mail the other day, and British Columbia is calling me. I hope we can get up there this year. I have an uncle up there I haven't seen since I was a fetus.

Planning on doing Yellowstone Park the last week of July with a group of good friends and family. On way back down to SoCal, going to spend the first weekend of August in Mammoth for the Bluesapalooza. We've found this Festival of Beers to be good times; good micro-brew beer; good food; and, good music. As a friend always tells me..."Don't get no gooder!".

Sounds guuuuuuud-- I want to try to squeeze in Mammoth too. We go to Upper Deadman's camp ground (free boondoking).
