Hello From the Smokies

Howdy! Name's Mickey - retired in the peaceful side of the Smokies. Just put a deposit on a new (2020) Precept 31UL. We'll be trading a Thor ACE - looking forward to the new digs, and looking forward to exchanges here on the forum!

Cheers!

Congratulations and welcome. We love Townsend and go there several times a year. We remember when there was hardly a place to eat there.

Thanks, all! And to Pfflyer (never had a pair of those growing up...): Townsend's a great place, and there are several pretty good restaurants. They just seem to change ownership fairly regularly.

You'll have to let us know when you're in the area - coffee's on and adult beverages are, too!

Congrats On the new memory maker and, welcome to JOF. The Smokies is our favorite touring motorcycle / tenting destination and we hope to get back there with the fifth wheel and more time as a retiree.

Welcome to circus... err, forum...

We head to the Smokies every fall, and our first few years we pitched at the KOA in Townsend.
Then we found a lovely private CG on the " other side ", near Cherokee.
We do, however, always drive over to Townsend at least once on each trip, to do grocery shopping and visit Little River Artistry, the wonderful wood carving place.
If I can ever afford to retire, that would be one of the first places I'd look....

Welcome from another previous Thor A owner. We often go into that area of TN since we have season passes at DW. We especially like the area in the fall.

Again, congrats and welcome.

Precept, 31 UL

Make sure you read all the threads about the Precept 31 UL
There are some good reviews but mostly bad reviews concerning handling and steering. A true TEST DRIVE at highway speeds on the interstate is a MUST.
do not take dealers words for granted we have been there and had a horrible time keeping the coach in a straight line. Many other owners have had the same issues.
Once on the road you ll be on your own with days or weeks to correct any chassis issues.
Read the reviews all of them. Read, read read !!!
It your money not other member’s.
