Hi guys,
My name is Henk and live in northern Utah.
Married and have a set of twin boys and currently 4 dogs.
I am born and raised Dutch and moved to the USA in 2004.
I am a Royal Netherlands Air Force veteran, worked F-16's.
We bought out first Jayco 27BKH after enjoying our Fleetwood pioneer 21CKS for 10 years.
The new great looking trailer is basicly a upgrade from our previous trailer since we out grew the 21ft trailer and we are hoping to enjoy this trailer without too many issues like our first trailer, here a short impression of our thoughts on the jayco.
After our first trip(shake down) we decided to go to a full hook up trailer park so we could try all systems,we noticed that Jayco wasn't very punctual in their clean up resulting in little aluminum shavings under the linoleum, some of the panels where not trimmed right and where bowing. The gas line under the trailer hanging down a Foot...... ready to catch anything and rip it off. lots of scratches and cover ups that didn't work on the trim inside around the slide out. the information panel with water level and battery levels wasn't working, some dome lights failed, outside kitchen had loose connections resulting in water all over the place including inside the trailer, scratches on some windows so basicly the list was long......
After waiting for a month to get the parts and getting some things fixed they called us and said come pick it up its done and we took it for another camping trip everything was fine. I filled up the tank with water and of course I let it overflow no problems, after a 3 hr drive we reached our designation and the wife tells me you didn't fill up the water tank!!!!!!!
.
So I told her I did and sure enough I lost like 30 gallons of water on the way
this was not good since we where about 30 miles from civilization in the middle of nowhere.... and yes you can do that in Utah.
After getting to the next town with a population of 300 and 5000 cows we found a mom and pop convenient store, we cleaned them out on the water bottles and we where ready to go.
Later that trip the A/C stopped working on us and I was kindda happy that we where camping later in the year so at night it was getting colder.
After taking it back again to the stealership they found a burned up wire to the A/C. there where no blown fuses at all.
Right now the trailer is at the stealership again for some major delayed parts issues that didn't prevent us from enjoying camping and get away from everyday things.
I came to the conclusion that these mass produced trailers have still some work to be desired when they come to the stealership. I have been walking around with the thought to write a letter to jayco and tell them our experience with their pride and joy trailer that basicly is our pain in the rear end because of the lack of quality on the final touch.
Anyway thanks for letting me on here so I can see what kind of "other" issues I might run in to with this trailer in the future and the possible solutions. I did ask the service manager where we bought the trailer about the water issue and he told me that I should have ran the pump or open a fosett and suck it vacuum so the water wouldn't run out. I had my doubts about his answer and I hope this time they fixed it or I will have to add some valves to the two lines.
Thanks in advance for all the ideas and solutions on this jayco trailer
Henk
