Howdy from CO!

After about 8 months of considering the idea and a lot of research into the unit, we finally decided to join the RV community with the purchase of a 2020 Jay Flight SLX 7 174BH Baja. We've already taken it out for a successful (nearby) maiden voyage and are really excited to hit the road later this month with some further excursions.

Our home base is about 35 minutes east of Boulder, CO, so we're looking forward to seeing some beautiful country in a way that previous car tripping and motel stays didn't allow.

Welcome! Our daughter lives in Aurora which is not to far from you. We have gone out camping with her many times. Get an annual state park pass to save money. Learn the state park reservation system which is annoyingly complex. Lots of wonderful parks all over the area. If you are over 65 then get a US parks pass to save you there.

You only need to be 62 to get an Interagency Senior Pass.

Hahaha, thanks! I’m still a couple of decades away from that, but my in-laws (also Jayco TT owners) do qualify, so I’ll make sure they’re aware.

Woohoo. Congrats from Gunnison. I'm new to the RV life and hoping to join you next week with a 184BS Baja. I have a question about your hitch height for the Baja. Could you help me out with the height of your hitch/ball? I have one that's +/- 2" and my hitch is 18.5". I don't know if it will be high enough to pull it home safely. Thanks much and more good times ahead for you in the new RV.

Awesome! We are actively on mile 2200 of a big 2500 mi round trip and so far, we are loving the trailer–have fun!

Leveled out, it is 24” to the base of our coupler. I’ll be honest, I have a bit of a love/hate for the Baja. Having a smaller tow vehicle (Kia Sorento), the height is requiring that we have an astonishingly huge stringer. It also means that we need a really tall set of blocks available for leveling the tongue at some sites (the one we’re at right now for example). But on the other hand, I love the larger rims, better rubber and the overall handling. Given that we will likely upgrade our tow vehicle in the next year or two, I think I’ll appreciate it in the long run.

Congrats and enjoy your new trailer!
