New Member New to Rving

Hello all
I am new here and have only owned my Class C Redhawk 22J for about 2 months
Finally got to use it last weekend, one day of Rain (Northeast rains every weekend). My wife, 2 small dogs and I have a lot to figure out and get those routines down.
I'm afraid I'm going to have to go through the New RV blues as issues presented themselves in just that one weekend trip that will require a trip back to the dealer.
Thing is dealer is almost a month out for appointments. Pours salt in the wound when problems arise and it takes a month to have them looked at

I wanted to go used, my wife wanted new - guess who wins that debate.

I'm on other vehicle specific forums so I know how these work, lots of good advise and support along with some 'Sky is Falling' venting. It all about filtering and Searching before asking the same questions

Is this a Jayco supported Forum or from a RV seller supplier?

Look forward to reading, getting and giving advice and support. I'll try and keep the spilled milk down to a minimum

Enjoy the time together with your family in your new TT.

Stuff is going to happen but hopefully they will be minor nuisance issues and nothing that makes the TT unusable.

And yes, I was considering used but my wife wanted new. I know who won that debate in my house (trailer in signature is a 2018 28RLS) .

While you are waiting to get your rig in to the dealer research and see if you can fix some of the items yourself. This will give you experience so if a similar problem comes up again you can handle it instead of waiting for a dealer while half way through a trip.

(and it also gives you an excuse to buy tools) LOL

Have fun!

The Forum is independent of Jayco.

My dealer was really good. When I first used it and found issues, they had me in and out right away. Two years later they were a bit slower, but they would schedule an appointment, check the unit over. if it needed parts, I would take it home and use it, while the parts were on order.

They will all have some type of issues. Some people choose to fix them their selves, and other have the dealer do everything.

One thing to note about RV dealers, they are independent sales facilities, and not a franchise like Ford, Toyota, Chevy.... So their is very little Jayco or any other RV manufacture can do to improve a dealers service.

I hope you had a great first trip. Our first year with our 23B, it rained every single campout, over ~50 nights of RVing. It was nice to have a warm dry place.

Congratulations on your new rig and welcome to the JOF. Go to the Jayco Class C MH section and ask specific questions about some of your issues. It is very likely others have similar experiences and will be able to help you out. Good luck.

Congrats on the Class C! You'll find that "campers" in general will have a break in period, even though the manufacturer and dealer are supposed to have some kind of QC before you get it. Some things jiggle loose, some things aren't just right, etc. You'll have your warranty to fall back on but sometimes it's easier to fix the little things vs. waiting a month or longer to get your rig "fixed". We decided to "fix" our stuff in the fall (Nov/Dec) when the weather's going to be bad anyhow. Good Luck!
