Before attaching, open your photo and make a crop and re-save. Even a very slight crop seems to make it work correctly when you attach it to your post.

I have had the same issue off and on and no one so far had suggested a fix, thanks.
Use software that offers ability to rotate your photo. I use GIMP because it's free and 'Open Source'. In it's menu pick IMAGE/TRANSFORM/ROTATE then FILE/OVERWRITE then exit the program. Less than 30 seconds. Here is their website: https://www.gimp.org/
