Shower surround seal

Good morning
We are new owners of a lightly used 2021 Greyhawk 29mpv with a rectangular shower. At the bottom of the shower where the walls meet the tub there is no sealing agent
My question is why there has been no seal (caulking) installed when the unit was built. Is that poor workmanship or left unsealed for a reason.

Thanks!
David

That is left unsealed on purpose to allow air flow. There is a lip on the top edge of the shower pan that extends up behind the walls of the surround. You do not want to seal the area.

Welcome to the group by the way and congrats on the new rig.

A search will bring up various past threads on this issue.

Bottom line-Do not seal it unless you want major condensation/moisture issues behind those walls.
