Funny Fright

After racking my brains trying to come up with the easiest and least expensive way to provide whole house surge protection for my mobile home and AC (100A mobile home pedestals have two 50A sockets, one for the house and one for the AC), it dawned on me that two Progressive 50A units would be the easiest and least expensive way to go. A couple of weeks ago, I got them in and installed them on the pedestal.

I hadn't been outside after dark since I put them in until last Friday when a friend picked me up to go get some dinner. It was still light out when we left but it had gotten dark before we got back and I forgot to turn on the back porch light where I usually go in and out of my house.

When I got past my truck in the carport, I suddenly saw two pairs of eyes shining at me, like a pair of the largest raccoons ever! I about jumped out of my skin! I went a little closer, scared out of my wits, then it dawned on me that they were the indicator lights from the Surge arrestors. I cracked up, then went back to my friend, who was waiting in her car to make sure I got into the house alright and told her she had to come see this. When she passed my truck, she was stunned since she had no idea what it could be.

That's a funny story and a good solution to the problem. I have not heard of using them that way but it's a innovative solution..

We only have the cyclops looking at us on the rv...and winking..

It's amazing how our perception of the landscape can change at night. Glad those surge protectors didn't attack you!
