Rifle was a letter sport and the school had its own indoor range. We would take our rifles and ammo on the school bus.

First day of deer season the principles office had more rifles than the local national guard armory.

I was born two days before they invented drinking water. Later on I bought gas for 17 cents per gallon.

My dad brought a knife like this home from World War II. I’m so old I took it to elementary school for show-and-tell.

I remember in grade school when we would jump up to smack the pipes in the basement and watch the flakes fly (we didn’t know about asbestos)…

Navy brat here , flew a lot as a kid. I remember going into the cockpit on commercial airlines during the flight and talking with the pilot.

I also remember going to Andrew's Air Force Base and greeting President Eisenhower when he landed there.

All water hoses used to be green rubber. The taste of the water from them was all the same. YUM!

My first TV show was Howdy Doody Time shown on my rich Uncle’s 12” black and white TV. It came on the only channel that was available after we watched the Indian Head test pattern for 1/2 hour. I remember Buffalo Bob, Clarabell the Clown (who became Captain Kangaroo), and Flubadub to name a few. It came on at 12 noon sharp during the summer.
