I'm so old I remember seeing Dwight Eisenhower on black and white TV. I remember getting our milk delivered by the milk man,and if we didn't get it fast enough the bottles would freeze and break.

We took a class trip to the local train station to see Ike on his whistle stop campaign, I still have the freebie pin that says :I Like Ike that was handed out by the local Eisenhower election committee

I remember telling the wife "Don't eat that apple", and having to go out and find some fig leaves....wait...no that was a grade school lesson.

At 70 I agree that life is about the journey not the destination.

Not sayin that everybody has to know how to row thru the gears, but REALY.
I’m sure most of us have owned several manual tranny cars/trucks (I’ve owned 5), one of those was a 1928 roadster (non-synchro) plus I drove a manny Ford fireturck (1960-ish) as a vol firefighter for our community.

Ok, you’re older than me. My earliest memory was some crazy dude building a huge boat and lots of animals wandering up to it.

Yeah, that was before the price of lumber went through the roof wasn't it? Good thing. I shoulda asked him how much he had in that boat.

Did anyone notice that the sound effects for the motor noise on the Mustang in the Steve McQueen Bullet movie had the sound of double clutching? We were in high school learing to drive and knew that Mustang had a synchromesh transmission, which we envied.

I remember my grandfather tell about the time my dad one of my dads brothers “fixed” the transmission on the Model A truck on their farm in Michigan. Small problem when they finished. Had one forward gear and rest were reverse.
