True story

My wife's great uncle (Orville) and his wife (Gladys) in there 70's were on there way here (NW Arkansas) from Oregon with the 5th wheel back in the late 80's. They had been driving all day up into the late night. He said around midnight he needed to get some sleep so he seen a place to pull over a wide dirt area off the side of the road. He pulled in and they jumped in the rv to get a few hours sleep. About 2 am he said he was awaken buy a roaring sound and a bright light shining into the rv about as bright as the sun. He jump up about the same time he hears a train whistle start blowing. He said all he could think of was oh he!! I've parked on train track. Both run out of the rv he in his underwear a Gladys in a night shirt toward the pavement. Said about the time they got to the pavement the train passed by about 30 feet from where they were parked and the engineer gave a couple more good blast on the whistle as he went by. Said it scared the crap out of them and bet that engineer laugh about that for months.
Hope you get a laugh out of this. When he would tell the story he would always get a laugh out people and laugh about it himself. He said wasn't very funny at the time though. LOL

Now that's pretty funny!
Years ago we were driving to florida in March and had been on the road for about 14 hours. It was pretty late, we were quite a ways south of Atlanta and we saw a sign of a motel at the next exit. At this point we didnt care that it was a bit of a no tell motel, we just wanted to hit the rack. Within an hour or two we were awaken by this thundering of a noise we didnt know what was happening until it hit the whistle. It was a freight train that had wheels on it that sounded square and those tracks ran directly behind the motel. This went on about every hour and a half to 2 hours the entire night. Wasn't too funny at that time but we laugh about it now.

Reminds me of a few RV parks we have stayed at.

Same thing happened to us when we stayed at the Delaware racetrack and casino. There were train tracks right across from the parking lot but we didn’t really mind it until we found out trains were going by all night long, heavy freight trains and they must’ve been 10 miles long.
