Question Another Insurance Question - Collision ?

Good morning to all. Beautiful day here in the Panhandle of Sunny Florida. It's already into summer time here, currently 87 degrees at a little after 10 AM CDT. The good news is, no oil has shown up on our sugar white beaches as of yet.

To the question and subject. I posted previously about extended warranties for RV's. I appreciate the responses and it certainly helped us to make up our mind. Thank you. We are evaluating insurance coverages. Now we are to collision and other types of damage. Do most of you just use your tow vehicle insurance or do you use a seperate insurance ? We are looking at some different quotes for full replacement value, replacement of contents, etc. God forbid we have an accident or fire, but something to consider. Just wondering what most of you do or prefer? Your responses are most appreciated.

What extended warranty did you opt to go with?

We carry Geico Insurance for our truck. We insured the tt with them also for full replacement.

we have progressive insurance for our 2010 19bh , it cot us around 150 for a year and ha full replacement coverage for first 5 years , I think if we were involved in an accident while towing our car insurance would cover that . The trailer insurance is for a fire , tree limb falling its rolls away because I forgot to chock it etc.
Ill look and get back to you Kipper

www.RVInsurancePro.com

When we purchased our TT, we did a bit of shopping around as well. We found the lowest rate to be with RVInsurncePro.
We opted to get full replacement and full coverage for contents and we pay $278.00 a year for everything.

Good Luck on your choice!

After shopping around and some of the various comments we decided to opt out of purchasing an extended warrenty. Some that we priced were under but close to $3K. We decided to take our chances. You may or may not need the extended warrenty. It's a crap shoot. Someone on this forum remarked to put a little money back instead of buying the insurance. That made sense to us. For $3K I can buy a couple of refrigerators.

We do want to purchase some full coverage loss type insurance though. I really appreciate the responses to the question. We are in the process of checking out the possibilities. We will need to do something within the next 2 or 3 weeks. We start our summer trip around the 15th of June and will be out awhile.

Thanks to all and if there are other suggestions, we would love to hear them.

Wayfarer's Insurance up here covered us for full replacement for the first 5 years we owned the trailer. After that, they'll only cover us for the value of the trailer itself. I've got basic coverage, plus a $mil liability....but collision is something only covered by the TV itself. I've always carried collision coverage on all my vehicles, even if it does feel like a bit of an insurance scam. If I ever need it, I know it's there.
