RV Upgrading Or Downgrading Poll
Last year we downgraded from a 40' class A Monaco to a 27' Jayco TT and wish we had done it sooner. I was wondering what the trend is these days, downgrading or upgrading so please join in the poll and post your comments.

We went from tents to a 26'TT to our current 31' TT all since October 2008. No more upgrades planned anytime soon. Maybe after the kids are grown we would consider a Rear living room floorplan instead of the current Bunkhouse floorplan.

Actually I would like about 8' shorter but could not get the layout I wanted in anything shorter... This monster will not fit in any of the primitive campsites at National Parks.

I like the floor plan of my current TT, have a 2005 Jay Flight 27BH, I really dont want anything longer as there is only three of us, but i wish i had a slide out.... that is probably the only thing major I'd change. Otherwise, pretty content with what i have (if i can fix my awning knob without taking it to the dealer...)

We bought the Jayco with the four bunks in the rear for the grandkids and glad that we did. My salesman did tell me in a few years (when they get older) that we will be back to trade up to a larger living area style (recliners, etc) and I can see this happening....but hopefully no time soon. Still having fun taking the grandkids camping and so are they.

My 26BH is my first RV, so I wasn't exactly sure of what I needed when I bought it. But now, after living in it for almost two months straight, I know for a fact I need lots of open floor space, a small dinette, a big bed and a single, comfy recliner. A big bathroom would be a plus too. And a bigger lavatory basin.
Don't need bunks. Don't need a sofa.
So, I might upgrade someday, maybe in a year or two. Probably something with one or two slideouts, and possibly special order the floorplan, or at least have them leave out some things I don't need.
I don't have a problem doing mods. I removed the sofa from my 26 BH (gave it to my niece for campfire sitting) and rigged it up so I can move my dinette table inline with the kitchen counter so I have more space to cook.

1970 8ft Caveman Camper +
1978 24ft Security Traveler +
1985 nothing -
1979 22ft motorhome +
1994 25ft Prowler tt ++
2007 32ft Montana 5er +++
2011 (hopefully) 36ft Jayco tt. +++++++++++++
We have decided that one level and 3 slides will fit our needs. We spend around 9 months a year in our trailer. In the 70's with two small kids we were very happy in an 8ft camper. Kids grow and teh 24ft tt was just what we needed. The 5er is good for retirement living but one level is what we want and my truck bed will be free again.
