Stay Safe and Warm

Seeing in the news that the Southern US is looking a lot like home here with unseasonal cold temperatures and some decent accumulations of snow (I just spent 90 minutes shoveling and blowing the driveway clear here at home; however, we are prepared for it!).

Stay safe and warm, and hopefully the power issues are resolved soon!

I was just telling someone who still lives in Wisconsin that winters in Colorado are a cake walk! The number one reason is the sun. With over 300 days of sunshine a year, you don't realize what a big difference it makes in the winter. From attitude to warmth.

I lived in Dallas for quite a few years. I recall those ice storms. I don't envy anyone having to try to make it thru those.

California may not be the "Golden State" it once was, but today in Clovis temps were in the low 60's with bright sunshine. The entire state is experiencing warmer than normal temps. We don't even know what snow is.

Texas is a mess. I’m in Corpus now and hoping to find my way to DFW tomorrow. Down here, there’s a run on the gas stations, water boil restrictions, busted pipes, dogs and cats living together, mass hysteria . And it’s only raining and cold.

Snow: (noun)..Very cold rain that won't go away until spring. Unlike warm rain that disappears by itself, cold rain has to be moved out of your way by mechanical means. Often causes grief, frozen fingers and toes, and is the subject of many a conversation depending on its depth. The deeper it is, the more colorful the verbs in the conversation. Best to avoid this very cold substance...

Stay away from DFW! Go west. We are in Azle, TX now, just NW of DFW. We have electricity but no water. We are living out of bottled water until Friday maybe. 100's of thousands here out of power and no restoration here planned for days or next week. Our park is on an electrical Co-op and appears not to be subject to the rolling blackouts that in fact are permanent.

If I could, I would couple up and drive 12 hours west into NM or something but we are expecting another snowstorm any moment now. Yesterday I drove my truck for propane but only slowly and in 4-wheel drive. Too dangerous for the RV.

Stay away!! (nothing personal)

I have a friend in Conroe, Tx, Came down to Texas to get away from the NC cold temps! Been without power off and on for days, ran out of propane and having to live in the truck to keep from freezing.

I’m wishing Texas could send the snow this way, we could use it.

Maine could also use it. Our snow level is much lower than normal.

We certainly have the cold temps, though.

Below zero F temps in Maine are one thing. Things up here are designed for it. In Texas, I suspect not so much.
