Thumbs up Virginia, Fine Wine, and GPS

Well, we're back from the multi-family camping trip to Virginia, and had a great time. There was the usual gas stop accessibility issue, and I think we were passed by every vehicle on the highway. Running at 60 to 63 in a 70 MPH zone can be scary at times. No issues with the TV or TT, and our stay at Misty Mountain Campground was awesome, with the minor exception of a couple frog-floaters early on. The wineries still make some really nice dry wines, and give the Finger lakes wineries a run for their money. We came home with almost four cases from five wineries we've visited before. Michie (pronounced "Mickey")Tavern is a must stop for history buffs, and serve a wonderful, albeit somewhat pricey buffet. The food was outstanding, and if you're super hungry, they'll bring you seconds and thirds of whatever you want. The learning experience for us was to never use the "shortest distance" setting on our GPS EVER again. It's not one of the RV friendly versions, and took us over the top of a serious mountain, on a road that seemed like someone's driveway....in the clouds....and a downpour! The "brake pedal" on DW's side of the truck is now forever broken, and I don't think her fingerprints will ever come off the door handle. It was almost like going down the Blue Ridge Parkway. A good time was had by all, the "wine cellar" is fully restocked, no problems with vehicles or campers, and "fastest route" is permanently programmed into our Garmin. A new one may show up for Christmas.
