Water usage

While camping without water hookup how much water do you use per day from your tank? We use paper plates, and only wash pans. Toilet as needed, Take a shower each day and wash hair. The dog drinks water all day long. We also have ice cubes for drinks trays are always full. We have it to 12 gallons per day for two adults and a 55lb dog. 84 gallons used over 7 day's.

I have 90gal fresh capacity and generally use that in 3-4 days. We bathe our 2 little kids each night before bed, wash dishes, a couple showers each... Our water use is pretty liberal - I carry a couple 6gal water jugs and use the kid's wagon to bring water to the trailer as needed if there's a source. If not, we conserve better.

So many variables.

1st) If your a conservative nut type, don't turn on or leave the water pump on without have the drain plug in place. This will help in monitoring the amount you are using. 2nd) Carry 5gal jerry cans with, this will help in monitoring the amount of water you use outside.

If your just camping with Water and electric and no sewer? We use 50-75gal a week. Trying to break this down to daily? Again to many variables.

Our 195RB has 20 gallons of fresh.

So we can last 3 days with no full showers. We can use a couple of gallons each and get a good clean up. Lots of paper with an occasional pot or pan wash, hand washing, etc. Minimal use of flushing. Drinking and cooking water comes from bottled water

Our limited grey and black capacity is the limiting factor.

I'm with RogerR on this; it's the waste tanks I've always worried about.

My TT had 80 gal fresh capacity, we bring water to drink separate, but even still, I never bothered to try to figure out my gallons per day usage. The MH has a smaller fresh tank, can't remember what it is right now, but we've never run out yet.

BUT I DO know how to conserve it. And I know how much certain things use. For example, I know DW and I can both shower for less than 4 gallons.

I would say 12 gallons a day is more than reasonable. You could probably get by with less, but if you can go 7 days on a tank of water, that seems "good enough for government work" to me!!

Our 30 gallon fresh tank usually lasts us about 3-4 days depending on use. The grey water tank will fill up before that but I mitigate that problem by using the water from there to pour out and extinguish campfires each night. We don't use the black water tank at all. There's always toilets at the campgrounds we've gone to which can accommodate the trailer.

I usually take a 5 gallon jug and fill it near the campsite or if unavailable I fill it at home and we use that for drinking water. It's really surprising how much water we use when washing dishes but we don't use any paper/plastic/disposable stuff.

For the two of us, with 90 gallon fresh water capacity, we don't exceed three days, but that's probably because we view our trailer as more of a rolling hotel room or condo than a camper. I like me a good shower in the morning.
