electric vs propane griddle

we have a gas Blackstone griddle. even thought it is just 22" its is still bulky and takes up a lot of room, its heavy, and hard to level even with the stand.

how well do electric griddles work? a lot if times' there are just 2 of use eating, other times there are 4 eating.

Thanks
Gary

I can't comment on the brand (I'll check later for you), but we have an electric griddle that we use for pancakes, etc. both while we are camping and even at home when we are serving more than just our family. I find it very easy to use and being nonstick, it is very easy to clean.

If you know that you are going to have electricity where you are camping, they are a great option.

I just looked at ours. It is a Rival GR 825 20x10.5 electric griddle. My wife said that it is approx 8-9 years old at this point and has worked great for us. If I recall, it wasn't very expensive either.

We picked up an electric griddle from Williams Sonoma, has the pebble non-stick finish. works GREAT and NOTHING sticks. We got it on sale, wasnt much more than other brands. Seems to have more even heating than the cheaper one we used previously.

I keep a small electric griddle in my camper that we use all the time too. I carry an extension cord, so I can plug it directly into the post if I want to, or I can use the outside outlet, or I can use the microwave outlet inside. It's SUPER versatile, easy to clean, cooks evenly, and is small and light. The outlaws gave it to us years ago, then a few years later asked for it back; I told them "absolutely not". LOL!! So they went and found a new one to buy for their own camper!

Anyway, it's really the only reason I haven't pulled the trigger on a Blackstone. It's just SO darn easy and convenient... And I carry a Weber Q for the grilling duties that I could easily put a griddle on if I wanted to...

And I have a bigger one we use at home ALL THE TIME.

If I camped a lot without electricity, I might consider a Blackstone a bit more closely, but that's just not how we generally camp...

We have an electric at home. Decent size, and never use it. We also have a couple cast iron and aluminum griddles at home which we use all the time.

The 17" blackstone tends to be used mostly while camping, but have pulled it out at home. The blackstone 22" is by far my favorite of all the griddles (Scout Troop's). Typically there is just three of us.
