Girard Water Heater

We have a 2022 Alante 29s with a Girard Tankless water heater. We love it and hate it. (the Girard) We love the instant hot water but hate the various steps which must be scrupulously followed in order to make it work.

We have finally figured out which switches and steps to use and now get hot water every time we use it.

In order to remember the procedure, I’ve printed a list of steps and placed it by the command center. I did this because last time we used the Girard we remembered every step EXCEPT turning on the water heater button on the command center.

I’ve included pictures of the chart.

I hope this helps.

The switch on the outside at the heater can stay on all the time until you winterize it. It is a disconnecting switch, so it can be worked on.

I turn it off because my water heater has a nasty habit of trying to turn on, especially when I am doing anything with the propane. The water does not have to be running. This is the second Girard heater I've had this issue with.

I find it easiest to just turn it off.

FYI; If switch left on + propane on, it will auto kick on when temp gets close to freezing.
