Loss of power in Toad

Toad is a 2020 F150. In order to flat tow you have to leave the key in the accessory position. Problem is by design the cigar lighter power on the dash turns off after 30 minutes so then I loose power to my plug-in auxiliary brake system. Anyone have an easy solution?

Run a separate receptacle connected directly to the battery.

Cheap and easy solution.

This is what I did in my Jeep JLU (Wrangler) because the nearest 12V receptacles are only powered when the ignition is on. I ran a separate, fused 12V receptacle direct from the battery into the passenger compartment and landed it under the driver seat. So I can also plug an inverter into it to charge my laptop or power my son's "accessories".

I also ran a charging cable from the MH umbilical to keep that battery topped up while we're under way, so the brake always has juice.

Run a new connection from the battery. Make sure you install a fuse

Thanks for the feedback, I did as suggested, ran a separate feed from the battery with a fuse.

Keep in mind that the plug-in brake system is not the only thing you have to power. You have tail lights, brake lights and turn signals. If you don't want to arrive with a dead toad you'll need to take charge power from the RV over the umbilical cord connected to a towed battery charger.

Pushing a dead toad within jumper cable range of your RV battery in the pouring rain is not the experience you want while camping!

I added a separate cigar lighter under the dash direct wired to the battery to keep the brake system powered. Also added a charger circuit from the RV to the battery to keep it charged.
