Tail Pipe

I have a 2021 Jayco Precept Prestige 36 B
I need a new tail pipe. My RV was hit and the tail pipe
was damaged beyond repair. The Body shop doing the repairs
does not do that type of work, Ford is replacing a blown head gasket
and can NOT replace it .I have asked the Jayco Co
several times and emailed everyone I could at Jayco and the Dealership
I bought it from? NO one has given me any information
of how I can obtain one ? IDEAS Please

Check with Eby Ford in Goshen IN, they may be the dealer that handles all of JAYCO's chassis.

Any muffler shop can fix it.

You would think so BUT 3 inch SS pipe with
special bends is special order and $$$$$
I’m amazed that I can’t find the manufacture
I’m positive that each unit isn’t hand made.

Read post #3. And the exhaust doesn't need to be stainless steel.

As mentioned earlier, any muffler shop that does custom pipe bending will be able to handle it.

Cost should not be an issue if your RV was hit and damaged the tailpipe. The repairs should be covered by the responsible persons insurance.

No need for me to go into the reasons, but a few months ago I had to replace the exhaust pipe aft of the muffler on my 2021 Precept 36A. Ruined the long section that is attached to the muffler on the passenger side and crosses over to the drivers side and the actual tailpipe section that was welded on to it. Local Ford dealer looked up the parts and got them for me in less than a week. The tailpipe on the replacement clamps on to the longer piece and actually ended up mounted a little higher and stuck out a little less than the original which I believe is a good thing. (hopefully less likely to get knocked into and under the rear tire lol) The long piece was pre-formed and fit perfectly. I think the total for the 2 pieces plus the clamp was about $350. I believe I could have done it myself, but wanted some "expert" eyes to look over the entire exhaust system to may sure everything was tight and on the "hangars" properly so I found a guy locally willing to come to the motorhome (parked at my house) and was glad to pay him $200 for an hour or so work.

Your fortunate, Peach State Ford will have nothing to do with the tail pipe. They claim it is not a Ford supplied part. Grumpy gave me the name of the Ford Chassis broker. I contacted them and they told me that all the pipes are custom. He said he might be able to help me and to contact him on Monday when the business is open. Thank you for your response. I appreciate your efforts to help me.
That was what I was hoping for when I joined the forum, not to be criticized.
Thank You again

That's great to hear! Nothing more frustrating than having a problem that is beyond your control and not getting the help you need.

Hope your RV'ing days in the future bring you much happiness!

No problem, here is a link that shows the entire exhaust system. The dealer was able to order only the parts I needed which was #5202 exhaust extension, #5H211 rear exhaust pipe, and #5A231 exhaust clamp.
https://parts.ford.com/shop/en/us/ex...ipe-12575927-1. The brackets come pre-installed on the long part, but the "hangars" they slide into would have to be ordered if they were damaged. I'm assuming your 2021 was built on a 2020 chassis the same as mine and most other 2021's. Good luck...I think I'd try a different Ford dealer or at least a different parts person.
