exploring the heating system on my new to me 2016 precept 31ul. The manual says there is a setting on the thermostat for gas, or elect. Mine just has heat or cool. Does this mean the heat pump runs whenever I want heat, noisy at night !! Am I missing something ?

My 2016 31UL only has gas heat. No heat pump.

My 14 31ul only has heat and cool also. Furnace works great (new owner and I ran it today to see how well it works in the cold).

Manuals are printed generically and will make listings based on all options for that model, even though your rig doesn't have it installed.
