I noticed last time out water pump only worked when i ran the generator . That struck me unusual i thought it ran on the battery as well .

It should run off the battery. They are 12V pumps. Some can be wired in at 115V. Is your battery ok?

Yes I should have been fully charged I was at an campground all week on 50 AMP service
Batteries were replaced last year . I went to wash my hands after stopping for gas and the pump did not turn on. Next day home in my driveway I ran the generator and I was able to turn on the pump. Would the inverter have anything to do with this ?

Somewhat. The inverter converts 12V to 120V. If your pump is 115V only, it won't work through the battery. Hence why the generator and shore power, which are 120V, runs the pump and batteries don't.

What MH so you have?

Only 120v ac pumps i am aware of is for the 5 gallon drinking water jug some units have.

Does all your other 12v items work when parked, and not on genny or shore power? My first thought is a battery disconnect switch is thrown.

A loose wire, or blown fuse, it would not work on any power source.

Was the main disconnect turned off (salesman switch near the door)? That will cut all 12v to the house which will disable the water pump. Then maybe before cranking the generator, you turned it back on?
