Winterizing Precept W/Compressed Air

Mornin', all -

Searched, but didn't find anything specific that relates. I've already winterized our 2020 Precept 31UL, with the Nautilus P3 console, using antifreeze. Wanted first to blow out the lines, so I hooked up my pancake compressor per instructions - valves all set correctly. But when I applied the air (30 lbs. pressure) to the water inlet, no air at any of the faucets, and there was a pronounced buzzing sound at the inlet.

As I said, I went ahead and winterized with antifreeze, so we're good to go there. But I'd really like to find out what's going on with the compressed air issue. Thought maybe it had something to do with the check valve, but there's no issue with water hookup, or with the pump pulling in the antifreeze; only when compressed air is applied. Any help?

Thanks,
Mickey

What did you have the valves set to? If you had it set to winterize, you may have been going through the pump. Maybe try to set it to city water which should bypass the pump and see what happens? To be honest, i've never done it but that sounds like what may be happening.

Thanks. I followed the instructions as well as checked YouTube videos. All levers (valves) set correctly. To blow out the lines, the four levers are set at 45 degrees so they are pointing at each other. And I also thought I'd set them to the city water position to see if that would make a difference - no luck.

I've sent a request in to tech support; hopefully they'll get back to me. As I mentioned, I went ahead and winterized with antifreeze, but I'd really like to get this working as it should, and be able to winterize with compressed air alone.

I set my valves to city fixtures to blow them out, same as water going through. I also took the inlet and outlet pipes off the instant water heater afterwards. Took the canister filter off and both inlet and outlet pipes off of the water pump.
