On a late night on one of my camping trips I came up with a crazy idea to turn the bath tub area into a bunk bed. I had a few requirements.
1. It had to be completely removable. Still had to be able to use the shower.
2. Strong enough for rough housing
3. Small enough parts so it can store easily in the wardrobe with out taking a lot of space.
4. Could not be too complicated, meaning if we wanted to use the shower quickly removable.
I'm pretty sure I spent more time thinking through the project than actually building it. The ladder turned out better the than I imagined it would. Including the ladder there are only 5 small pieces. It takes less than a minute to assemble and disassemble. The only permanent part are the 2 brackets on the wall. The best part of this project was I only had to buy about $25 worth of parts, I had most of the wood and foam already.
After finishing this I think the RV manufacturers should offer this as a option. It really maximizes the spaces you aren't using at the same time.
The kid loves the new bed with his own ladder!
