Question Have You Replaced a Sofa?

We’re shopping for a replacement sofa. At the RV show I saw lots of Thomas Payne reclining theater seating in new trailers.
I’m starting to worry that my slide wouldn’t be deep enough for a recliner. The current sofa is a fold-out sleeper that I reserve for people that I only want to stay 1 night. Visiting the 5th today and will take some measurements but I’ve not been able to get “required” space for a replacement.

If you’ve replaced a sofa in a slide do you recall the depth of your slide and what did you replace it with?

We have been looking at this. The only downside is you cant try before you buy.

Have You Replaced a Sofa?

I just replaced the J-sofa with a Walmart futon. The slide in mine is a bit different, bottom sits above the wheel well (not at floor height). Because of this, I need to find something that had it's own frame. Futons are cheap.

We went ahead and replaced the original RV furniture with dual power reclining sofas made by Flexsteel. I’m in the furniture business so it made the decision a little easier. I prefer real leather over the polyurethane cheap sofas they sell with them. They fit well, just have to slide them back to the walls a bit before closing my slides.

Mine is not power nor leather but i love the Flexsteel reclining loveseat i put in my 5er last year. It came apart in 4 pieces and easy to get through the door and reassemble.

Yes just replaced sofa in 2008 Greyhawk 30GS. Bought new duel recliners with center console from shop4seats.com. My slide is 68 wide 31 deep. Recliners were suppose to only need to be 4 inches from back wall. Cannot fully recline (flat) with them when positioned that way however they still allow us to kick back and relax so we were happy with that. Very tight fit we have not even needed to bolt them down.

We took out our L-shaped sofa/hideabed and put in two free standing recliners. We can turn them to face the TV directly and it gives us more flexibility in the layout. They are secure in place when the slides are in. We got an inflatable bed for guests. No one could sleep on the sofa bed for more than a night. Just make sure that you get one that fits through the door.
