Jay Flight sewer hose project

I first completed this project on our last Keystone travel trailer. It turned out well so I decided to do the same to our 2017 Jay Flight 23RB. The cost of the entire project cost less than $50. I purchased a vinyl 6X6 post at the local big box store, cut to length and coated with a black truck bed liner. Installed 2 brackets on the A frame, secured one end cap with a screw and the used a chain on the passenger side end cap so it would not get lost. Easy project for storing sewer hose with fittings.

Why not just stick it in the rear bumper?

The Rhino fittings will not fit in the stock 4" bumper.

Actually they do. I have two 10 foot lengths inside my standard, stock bumper. The key is that you have to swivel the end fitting, so the four flanges line up with the corners.

This seems to be a common issue (see other threads here), but once everyone realizes they can spin the end fitting, it slides right in.

Another tip, I noticed the inside of my bumper was all rusted (and this was a brand new unit). The rust actually caused a lot of resistance when sliding in any hose. So, I pulled off both caps and sprayed the inside of the bumper with silicone and WD-40... now, my rhino flex hoses (with the fittings swiveled the right way) slide right in, without resistance.

Great mod though but as RetiredOne stated, rotate the end fitting to 2,4,8,10 o'clock position and the RhinoFlex slides right in. I have a 15' and a 5' extension in my 4'' bumper going on 6 years now. Great hose. Great thing about your mod is you don't have to worry about losing any bumper end caps. Nice job.
