At that price sounds like a non-inverter, open frame, loud one? Link it and let's confirm.

So you are saying it is not as good as the 3100 or 3400? I should stay away from it? Thanks, Mike

I’m surprised that no one has mentioned the Harbor Freight Predator.

Do you have a model # or sku? There are several different models and I want to get the best for the cheapest price? You mentioned remote start. I don't see any that have remote start just electric? Thanks, Mike

Just bought the Westinghouse Igen4500 INV GEN for $747 home depot. Should get it in 2 days. Hope it was the right decision??? Comparing many models, it looks like the best buy. Mike

Looks like a good decision to me, it has better specs than the Firman that cost me more!

When you hook up to shore power outlets, you are supposed to shut off the circuit breaker to the outlet, plug in and then turn on the breaker. What is the safe way to hook up to a generator? Start first then plug up or plug up then start?

Instructions on our Honda is: Start generator, let it run a few minute to warm up and than plug in the trailer or what ever you are running.

Yet another reason to get a EMS with built in time delay. Prevents arcing at the power post plug and also gives the generator a couple minutes to warm up before supporting a load. It's a win win and you don't even have to think about it.

Do you need to use a surge protector on the Igen 4500? Or any portable generator.
