Sewer Hose hook-up/tent end cleaning
Afternoon Guys and Gals!
I have two questions for you! Has anyone here came up with a way to keep the sewer hose elbow in the sewer pipe at a campsite? I know...lol...rock...firewood...ECT...ECT!
Would like to figure out a way to keep it connected. Some sites the pipe is nice and vertical other it is almost 45° off center.
Next question! Our X17Z is now three years old and I want to clean and condition the tent ends. What is the best cleaner to use? Also, how can I keep the discolored water I rinse off the tent ends from staining the side canvas screen window covers?

Our X20E is our second hybrid and we've had it for 5 years. Our previous hybrid was an '03 Jayco Kiwi 17a that we had for 10 years.
I've never done anything special to the tent ends other than hose them down and run a wet towel over them from time to time. Not even once per year. For really tough sap or other tree drippings I use Awesome from the dollar store on the spot.

Virtually ALL of the campsites I've been in that have a sewer connection, have a threaded inlet. I have a threaded adapter that screws into that sewer inlet and that connects to the sewer hose with a twist lock connection.
Google Camco 39736 and you'll see the parts. Hopefully that will be clearer than my awkward explanation.
Sorry. I got nothin' for your other question.

I wash the tent ends once a year, using dawn dish soap. I live very close to a flight path and the soot from the jets gets on the ends. As far as the window covers go, it has never been a problem. They water doesn’t seem to run onto them. Just don’t use a lot of water at once rinsing the soap and dirt off. I have a x23b and previously had the x17z

Thank you so much for the information! I will try that this fall before it goes away for winter.

I have used a product called ProtectAll on my popup and now my x17z for years. It is a spray wax that worked very well on the textured metal as well as the vinyl tent material. It cleans and conditions and it is safe on almost everything. It is listed on Wal-Mart for about $10 for a 16 oz bottle. Wash the tent ends, dry with a towel and then spray on ProtectAll and wipe it off. I did my 2002 Jayco popup every year and the tent was like new after 14 years!

To keep your sewer hose in a large (1 gallon or bigger) zip lock bad 3/4 full of water, bleed the air out, and set it over the elbow(like saddle bags). When your ready to move empty the bag and it takes up almost 0 space.

What a great idea!!
I carry a Camco Revolution that has a threaded elbow. Most times it works fine, but sometimes the inlet is sunk down into a concrete sort of bowl, and it's difficult to get the hose connected. I've always been able to get it to work though, so I've never seriously searched for a solution.
