Stove top cover

Made this from an old table top I had made for my old camper. Wasn't happy with it so I made another table and had this one laying in the basement.

Thanks all! If I had done it from scratch for just this purpose I
would have stained it a darker color to match the cabinets. Prolly won't matter what color it is once we a re campin, it will be covered with junk!

Nice. How is it attached to the stove grates?

Not attached at all. There is a 1-5/8" tall "lip" on the sides and back. A 1" lip on the front. I attached the non-slip shelf stuff to those lips (not the short front one though) and it just sits over the stove top. I cut it so it is just barely bigger than the stove to keep it from sliding. That along with the non-slip stuff seems to work. I can snap a pic of the bottom of it if you like. My rambling above would make more sense then.

Nice mod. We don't use the stove and something like this would be nice for more counter space...

X2, my stove is about 28,000 miles old and has never been used and it too is a counter top. It's 50/50 cooking outside and going out to eat.

LOL...those pics stink! Doesn't show much of the bottom at all. I will get a better one later when I hook it up for this weekend. The short lip on the front butts up against the raised grill on the stove, that helps keep it from sliding. I had to make it shorter because of the height difference between the stove front an the counter. The other edges butts up against the stove on the sides and back to hold it in place.

Built something for my camper. Used several strips of Velcro to hold it to the counter when traveling. Gives a lot of extra counter space as I do not use he inside stove top much..

Stove top

Your idea looks good, what i did was bought a cutting board at bed bath and beyond, just a little larger than the stove top then i purchased thread spools 1 1/2 wide x 2 1/4 tall and screwed them on to the corners fit perfect with about 3/8'' clearence from top of stove
