Another waterfront site
Another beautiful waterfront campsite, this time at Janes Island SP near Crisfiled MD. We stayed there this past weekend for the first time. Electric only sites, no water or sewage as are many of the MD. SP`s here. We liked it so much we booked the 4th of July weekend there. Healthi, we gotta get that Jayco owners flier ready so we can start taking pics of it at these places! LOL

What a pretty place, Crabman....love the trees. In West Texas, we have no trees so if we find a cactus or a large bush, we park beside it.

Here trees are plentiful, especially pines.

I've never been there, Crabman. But I have read that it's a real nice place... Until about July when the skeeters eat 'cha alive.

Gee, all this time I thought the Delmarva Shorebirds were.
And, according to my son (who lives near Salisbury), the official fragrance is called Delmarva Perfume. Now there's something that will keep most of the reading audience guessing. This should be good because if you Google it as "delmarva perfume", you get no hits.

We have been to see the Shorebirds play. Even went with the Cub Scouts on Scout night when they pitched their tents on the field after the game and camped there the night. I suppose Delmarva Perfume may be the sweet smell of fresh chicken manure, with all the poultry industry here?

Nice camp site pictures!
I see a concrete pad there. How common is it for SP to have concrete pads? Around here, only the private parks would have those.

Its not concrete, but rather crush and run, which is blue/grey stones mixed with a packing agent. So they are not solid but make a nice pad. That seems to be the norm for the SP`s here.

Very nice pics, did you notice if they had sites big enough for a 35 footer? I find that alot of SP's around here are a little on the smaller side. It looks like a very nice place.

Well mine is 31 ft, 4 more feet would have been no problem in many sites I saw. Sites do vary as with any park, There are some very deep sites that will hold really long rigs. And some are on the smallish side. Here`s the website. It tells you more or less on the reservation site how big a trailer can fit in each site, although they are not always accurate.

That looks like a nice place to spend some time. It is too bad that diesel is over $4.00 a gallon. Sallie and I would like to tour the North East states with our trailer. Guess I'll have to buy a lotto ticket.:hihi:

Not entirely true.
There are two state parks on Long Island, Hither Hills and Wildwood. Hither Hills only has a handful of water spigots scattered around the park so you have to hook up a hose to fill your camper and then unhook it. Wildwood has water, electric and sewer.

I love the Crisfield area....When I was a kid, my grandparents would drive from Cecil County MD to Crisfield to buy soft crabs. Every year we made the trek. Back in those days that was a big deal. Years later I bought a boat from a fellow named Bobby Goldsborough in town......he's still there. Stop in when I'm down that way......I'd love to give Janes Island a try.
