174BH thermostat replacement

I am wondering if a Honeywell TH1100DV1000 Pro-Digital 2-Wire Heat Only thermostat would be a good replacement for the stock analog thermostat supplied from the factory.

What have you folks replaced yours with? I only need heat as I have the wall mounted AC unit.

Thanks!

Here's what I replaced mine with. It, too, just takes care of the furnace since my A/C is ceiling mounted and independent of the wall thermostat. It was a simple install. I bought mine on Ebay for $15 or $20.Click image for larger version

Thanks stateboy, but that one is too wide, I need a single gang size. My thermostat sits on the wall between the bathroom door and the bunks.

You know, right where the kids can reach over and play with it.... I'll need to find a tamper proof plastic cover for it next...

This one should work - I think it's the same one referenced in the OP. Our 195RB has it mounted on a narrow section between the bathroom door and the wardrobe door:

I installed this one a couple of years ago and have been very happy it compared to the old one. Here is a link to my post with a couple of pictures of the installation:

I would agree with what ttavasc has for a unit. He used the 1000 series. Mine is the 5000 series and is overkill. I got it cheap and had the space for it. The 5000 series will also will operate an A/C unit. However, like you, there are no wires there to use that option.

yup that is it.. We replaced the OEM one in our 195. No more hurt fingers and stiff mechanism and guessing.. It is worth every penny.

Couldn't find a narrow cover for your thermostat. I did find this narrow old school anti finger tampering device. https://www.amazon.com/SODIAL-Studen...62&s=hi&sr=1-3

I installed it before our first trip and am so glad I did. Works like a dream.

In hindsight I would have liked a programmable one as we went out for the day and I forgot to turn it off, so it kept the trailer warm while we were out which was wasteful. Lesson learned though!
