2010 213EXP - tire upsize

I am about to purchase a used 2010 213EXP for a RV dealer about 150 mi from us and the tires are orginal and dry rotted. Want to replace for drive home this weekend . They are goofy 13” D load range and can’t find them in stock anywhere. That worries me for future use when on the road. Can I upside them with 14” (205). I cant get to trailer to measure the wheel wells. I called Jayco and got the canned “altering the stock size is never good idea”. I searched here and saw some smaller single axle trailers folks have done it but no 213 . Hopefully logistics work out, we really like th layout and camper is clean and although not stealing it seems reasonably priced ( I th8nk). We are getting it for 10k OTD.

Thanks in advance.

I agree with you size 13s are a little harder to find. When I was looking at new tires, I was considering up sizing to 14" rims too.

Here are a couple notes I took while researching tire options;

Per Jayco customer Service

Clearance between the tire and the wheel well or other interference needs to be a minimum of 2.5"
Recommend contacting Dexter (axle provider) to determine if they have a solution for larger tire sizes, such as a lift kit or something else. Dexter may also have a maximum tire size recommendation for our configuration
Dexter axle:
Torflex 2000
Part # 0263596

Frame Info;
Bal Industries
Dual axle JB Frame
Part # 0207660

Per Dexter Customer Service
Need to have a 3" minimum clearance above the tire to wheel well/interference, that is with a full load condition.

Need to have a minimum of 1.5" clearance between the wheels on a tandem axle unit.
I upgraded to Carlisle load D, don't recall which model. Discount Tire informed me of the tire, as they were very new to the market at that time. I have liked them so far.

Try trailersetgo.com

I've bought several trailer tires mounted on rims for a better price than just the tires locally. They also carry higher load range tires.

I have a 2010 exp21m and the standard tire was a 13” but Jayco offered an option of the 14”. 205 so your good to go on your upgrade size and you’ll have plenty of room in the wheel well.
