I had problems getting my key in this spring. Try a little lubricant. I have some oil in a can similar to what they used on the tin man is wizard of oz.

Is the key turning at all but not retracting the deadbolt? Either way you should start with a lubricant. I have been a Locksmith for 27 years and lack of lubricant is the number one cause of locks malfunctioning. If the key does start to turn but then starts getting hard and you are afraid of breaking it off then as you apply light turning pressure take and pry up a little bit on the door. The bolt of the lock could also be binding on the strike. Post back and let us know if the results.

So Locky, I have read that some locksmiths use WD40. I've always been a graphite man since that's what my Dad taught me as a young kid but what's your take on WD40?

After almost 2 years of full time use mine started to get hard to turn. A shot of graphite loosened it right up. Actually better than when it was first used.

Well I do not use WD40, never been a big fan of it. It kinda gets soapy with moisture and collects dust. I have been using Tri-Flow since 1987 and it is a Teflon spray. Graphite lube is also good. But when your in a circumstance as the original poster is then I would use whatever lubricant spray he has on hand. Most of them work just fine at first but break down faster as time goes on. Another tip is to keep your door locks on your cars/trucks lubricated and periodically use them instead of the remotes. I get a lot of calls from people who have their remotes stop working and now their key don't work in their door locks.

ok got in through hatch and unlocked it. likes like the striker plate got moved a tiny bit and was catching on the deadbolt. All is good and the people are on their way t see it.
Only one problem i fell in love with it all over again once in it. When we split i went and bought a new 2012 dodge ram to pull it and got the electric brake installed but this offer came in. ahh if it doesnt sell today i will keep it and enjoy it

I have two keys that look identical on my TT. One will not open it but the other will for the deadbolt.

One could have been a duplicate key made somewhere. It might look just like the other one but really even with as little as .030 of an inch off can make some keys not work.

Glad you got into the trailer ok. I use to send my son thru the cubby hole in our old trailer.
Our new Jayco doesn't have that option. Don't know if you knew this but there is a RV club for single women. That might be a great way to keep busy and forge new friendships while doing the things you love. I often get the chance to camp alone. I do enjoy it but it took a number of trips before I became comfortable being alone in the trailer. I suggest camping with your siblings or friends to start with. Good luck in your new endeavors

Really wow there are clubs for everything now lol. I have 2 standard poodles and a toy my female standard is very alert and trust me nobody would even touch the trailer without me knowing. I would feel very comfortable in the sites i would go to Valens and Bronte in southern ontario. I have it booked to go in middle of June for them to look at and make sure door didnt shift. HUM off to look for this single womans rv site And i am loving the 2012 dodge ram i bought to pull the trailer with
