Jay Feather Micro's Black Tank Valve/Handle
On our recent trip we had the fun experience of going to dump our tanks and when I pulled the black tank valve it opened but the handle/rod kept coming out! Good thing this was on our entrance to a campsite, not leaving.
I am wondering if anyone else has had this happen?
This rod is about 4-5ft long, and just screws on the valve. I had experience thankfully with pulling the bottom off the trailer to run wires for our inverter, so I kind of knew where things were. It was a simple fix, about 30min total time. Here is a pic of it started to be threaded back on. To get to this valve its in the back of the trailer, you just drop the "stinky slinky" storage tube, then unscrew the bottom plastic and push out of the way. If you look straight in its right there, thankfully! Just start it back on and then have someone else pull it out so you can grab better with plyers and have them spin clockwise to tighten back on. Then close it all up. Wish I had some blue thread lock at the time... I just hope it doesnt happen again.
Thankfully the rod didnt fall off while on the highway and that it opened when I pulled. Even more thankful for the "extra" valve that I had on hand (not installed at the time) to put on so I now have three valves.
