I managed to get into the dash to take a closer look at the Pioneer radio.
There's a couple of different wires on the radio connector:
- Yellow should be connected to constant 12V
- Red should be connected to 12V when ignition is on
- Black is obviously ground
I'm not measuring 12V on the yellow lead at any time, but I am reading 12V on the red lead when the ignition is turned on.
Interestingly, if I pull off the connector, I'm reading ~1V coming out of the radio across the pins that would connect to the yellow and ground leads. That doesn't seem normal to me.
Has anyone else pulled out their Pioneer dash radio? It died on the trip home from the dealer so I'm inclined to look for simpler explanations, but the fuse in the distribution center is fine, as is the 10A fuse in the back of the radio.
