Camco water filters

What are the differences between Camco 40042, 40044, 40045 and 40019 water filters. I can't find a comparison of specifications.

Each number represents whether you are buying a kit, a single, two or three in a pack. The filters are the same.

They're all the Camco 20 micron filters. 20 microns is a bit better that running the water thru pantyhose. But not much.

I use those Camco filters as sediment filters off the campground spigot. The real filter is the 5 micro whole house in the wet bay.

Camco doesn't even tout anything about the micron size. It's the activated carbon that's important. It does a pretty decent job of reducing odors and bad taste. We've had some pretty bad smelling water in a few CGs and these really help. Nothing worse than a shower in water that smells worse than your own sweat.

There is a blue Camco filter that's about twice the size of the normal ones. I think it's called a long life filter. Don't know what its part number is.

Exactly. Its the carbon that lists the filters at NSF 42/53. 53 very important:

NSF/ANSI 53 establishes the minimum requirements for the certification of POU/POE
filtration systems designed to reduce specific health-related contaminants, such as
Cryptosporidium, Giardia, lead, volatile organic chemicals (VOCs) and MTBE (methyl
tertiary-butyl ether), that may be present in public or private drinking water. The scope of NSF/ANSI 53 includes material safety, structural integrity and health-related
contaminant reduction performance claims. The most common technology addressed by
this standard is carbon filtration.
