Dometic Low Profile bedroom AC compressor short cycling

Up until last week the front Dometic AC on my 2019 Jayco has worked great but now I think there might be a problem...

I’ve got the bedroom and main thermostats set to auto HI usually. The main AC unit cycles correctly and has no issues. The bedroom unit was working fine but now the fan stays on and I can hear the compressor cycle on for 10 to 15 seconds and then shut down while the fan still runs. The compressor stays off around 3 mins and cycles back on.

Conditions are around 75 during the day currently with the Texas sun shining on the RV. At night tempratures are in the 50s. The air has been dry with a lot of wind and some dust. Any ideas?

I’m interested in seeing the responses to this as well.

I turned on the BR A/C the other night to knock the temp down a couple degrees. Mine behaved the same. I chalked it up to the outside air being at or below the temp I set on the thermostat since it worked fine the following afternoon with higher temps.

Following...

First let me correct myself. My units are AIRXCEL not Dometic. Every other thing in here is so I assumed wrongly.

Second, I think the problem has been solved. I consulted the manual and found the unit has a "pressure overload cut-off". I cleaned the air filters for the unit, which only filter a very small portion of air because the actual intakes are much smaller than the filters. Next I flipped the breaker to the AC unit and waited 3 minutes. Turned it back on and it seems to be operating normally.

If it happens again in the very near future I'll post again.

Well I spoke to soon but I think I’m having the same issue as LADD. During the day the system runs perfect but when The exterior temp cools down at night the system short cycles. Very annoying when I just want it cool while I sleep.

Thanks for the follow up. Hopefully that is all it is. Surprised though there aren’t more responses supporting this or debunking it.

Same. You think it would be a common issue. Most threads elsewhere go into it being a capacitor issue right away. However, I read more into the manual and it says if temps are below 75 F to not turn it down to low to prevent freezing so maybe that’s got something to do with it
