Furnace Question

Furnace burner comes on for about 30 seconds and then goes off, repeats a second time but continues to run and heat trailer. Never had a furnace do this before. 2019 Jayco Eagle HT 272

Sounds like the sail switch is not working correctly.

The sail switch is a device that confirms the blower is pushing air. They have a tendency to get dirty and not work correctly. They will also fail at high altitude too, due to the lower air density at altitude.

It’s not unusual for the furnace to light twice and continue to run. If it does it 3 times and doesn’t stay lit it will shut down completely.

Yes I have also had mine light up twice before it heated to the set temperature.
If it goes to a third light up sequence it then goes into default at 72 degrees before it shuts down. My problem was at first the sail switch. Later problems reoccurred and this is where I replaced the circuit board. Most all of these are from China so avoid those if replacement becomes necessary.

Get the dinosaur board. Made in US. They will also help you diagnose.

Website. Call to confirm which board you need and then check Amazon.

Thanks for the info and suggestions. I will get back out to the trailer later this week and check out sail switch and go from there.

I replace my sail switch and it is working good now, the sail switch is one of the main part that go bad, but get back with us and let us know what were the problem.
