Or, as I stated above 3,600 watts available versus 12,000 watts...
This makes sense as long as you are plugged in. How does it work when you are using your 5500 watt generator? Just curious as both of my sons have 5th wheels with 50 amp.

NO. But the decision to use an EMS system is not TOTALLY based on cost. An extra $200 for a 50 amp breaker panel and a 50 Amp cord is not going to kill the sale of $200,000 rig. The converter and 12 v panel are both the same whether 30 amp or 50 amp shore power.

I replied that I had no idea; they sold it to me that way. I asked him whether he had ever seen a Prestige before. He ignored that question.

Anyone else experienced this problem? Is the amperage too low to support 2 A/C units? If so, why the hell did Jayco build them this way?

Thanks in advance.

HEY!!!

Sorry this turned into an internet thread and we were too busy arguing we forgot about you.

What Norty and Grumpy posted is what's happened to you. Those two units are lower amp draw units and you have a Power Management System.

It's job is to watch all of the electrical devices and make sure you don't exceed 30A. It'll flip an A/C unit off, for instance, if you fire up the microwave.

Your dealer hasn't kept up with the times.
Might be time to look for a new one.

My Greyhawk has one A/C and you should consider yourself lucky, brilliant to buy yours with two.

We *bake to death* in this thing when it's full sun and temps are mid 90's and up.

So no, you're not stupid. You have a 30A Jayco with two A/C units and a Power Management System.

Your dealer probably still has a flip phone.
