Smile IOTA converter

Hi all. I am working on adding solar to my trailer and have been acquiring the necessary parts.. One item that I was concerned about was the charger/converter and whether it would play nice with LiFePo4 batteries..

As I did my research, I am pleasantly surprised to learn that IOTA makes a module that plugs into the existing IOTA charger/converter and makes it into a SMART converter.. It changes the charging voltages and timing to work with LIFePo4 type batteries.. https://www.iotaengineering.com/IQ/#!/detail/IQ-LIFEPO

Best part, cost is $29 CAD..

Nice..

RobE,

Welcome to JOF

Might want to check that your IOTA convert/charger has the proper plug-in for the "IQ" device....., many didn't (like my prior IOTA).

Good point.. Mine has the jack but I did read somewhere that IOTA tech support will provide wiring instructions for the older chargers..

Regards,

Hi all. Great news, just finished my wiring changes and have the IOA smart charger hooked up to a LiFePo4 battery. Charger voltage is now 14.2 and is charging the battery.

Ciao
