Jaycommand Display/ Controller Swap

Hello everyone,

I just got a new 2022 Jayco Eagle 284BHOK with the Jaycommand system but it has the smaller “display” (LED non-touch) instead of the “controller” (tablet). Does anyone know if it is possible to replace the small display with the nicer larger controller? Maybe have to swap the nodes too? Love the system with my phone via BT but the smaller display isn’t as user friendly. I emailed BMPro but haven’t heard back from them.

Thanks in advance!

The larger panel is just a google android tablet. So if you have one, you could simply get the BMPro app, same one on your phone, from the google playtstore and attach the tablet to the wall in your camper.

I've added a few more apps (RVLife, MAPS, Drive and Assistant).

I also changed the background to 'Jayco' logo (see attached). Although I made this background for my phone, it works perfectly for my tablet.

That’s clever! I didn’t think about that! Might have to steal one of the kids tablets 😉

Did you do anything special for a mount to make it look more “stock”?

The stock is the google tablet. My camper came with the larger tablet so you can just use your own (or one from your kid's haha). Attaching it with velcro may be better than double-sided tape... or command hooks even.
Oh, there's a voice recorder app... really handy if you want to leave voice messages for someone to collect while you are out... just click it to record and click it to playback... leave it on-screen with 'sleep' disabled to let others know a message is waiting.

I'm having an issue with my controller, its frozen with the BMPRO logo. The switch functions along the bottom work. My phone app has full functionality. From everything I've read it appears the tablet is bad. My question is can i just buy a 7" Android (google) tablet download the Jayco command app and replace it?

Thanks

I just had my wall unit off and apart. It does appear you could replace with a different unit but to fit into the housing it would need to be exactly the same size and charging port location. Mine went completely dead over winter. I think it got to cold for to long and stopped charging. Brought it inside charged it up and now all good. Back in the camper functioning as intended.
